Hi
I wish to set up my machine to triple boot Windows Me, 2K Professional and XP professional. I have created partitions C, 1.7 Gb, primary; D, 2.2 Gb, logical; E, 3.5 Gb logical to install the O/Ss, the rest of the disk in 2 logical partitions about 16 Gb each for apps, data etc. I install the O/S in the order Me, 2K (SP2), XP, and use the MS boot loader. On installation, everything is OK, booting to any of the 3 O/S. If I change XP in any way, though, eg. install a printer driver or just deleting windows wallpaper, then Me and 2K boot with no problems, but when I try to boot XP it reaches the loading screen and then hangs. I can boot in safe mode, but even a system restore to that saved on original installation of XP does no good. I have tried booting to create a boot log, but this doesn’t seem to work either. I have tried reinstalling XP 3 or 4 times, and still get the same problem. Can anyone offer any advice or tell me what is happening ?
