XP Drive shows in Vista Disk management as Basic – But wont mount

by jwheat01 . Updated 18 years, 9 months ago

A good SATA drive holds data from my old XP system. When I connect it (either internally or via USB) in Vista Ultimate, the drive shows in Disk Management as (Basic, Online). The only Action offered is: Convert to Dynamic. The Partition shows as (Healthy, Active, Primary). The only Action offered is: Delete Volume. There doesn’t seem to be any way to assign a Drive Letter. How can I get my Data back?
