XP Home->Pro Netowroking problems

I set up a network between my laptop and desktop. Desktop is running XP Pro and laptop is running XP Home. I was able to share out my desktop hard drive via a wizard. I mapped the network drive and am now able to open it on my laptop, but I am unable to open any of the subsequent folders on the mapped drive. I keep getting a permissions error, so I tried to share out the folders individually on top of sharing out the drive. Still no luck. Any help is appreciated.
