XP Home won’t load

Brand new WD800 HDD, all new box. XP Home starts to install, goes to a white screen 5 minutes into loading “set-up”….. and stays there. If I open the CD Drive, it’ll start over. The BIOS is clean. Help… trapped. It’s not even getting far enough to be a video driver…. I am totally stuck.
