XP logon needs Domain Controller Reboot

When I log on to an XP Pro network client (using a domain acct that is also a local Admin acct), the PC hangs at “Applying Computer Settings” until I reboot the Domain Controller (there’s only 1) which is a Win2k Server.
I’ve tried re-adding the PCto the domain, and restarting the DNS and WINS services at the DC. No help. This started happening AFTER I reloaded the system with a fresh OS (XP Pro). Any thoughts would be appreciated!
