XP Pro and Daylight Savings

Windows XP Pro caused a major fault when it processed the automatic daylight savings time adjustment. Has any member had this experience? Windows refused to boot after time change and when started in Safe Mode the time had been reset to US / Samoa time zone and the time was advanced to reflect that time zone. I am located in the U.S. Central Time Zone. The error was unrecoverable and I had to reinstall Windows XP Pro.
