XP setup problems!

Upgrading from 2000 pro to XP pro. Setup stops when reaching about 60% of “installing devices”, screen blanks out for about 2 seconds, then after another 15 secs or so the computer restarts and the installation begins again! Want to do a “new install” but don’t know how to get out of this loop and restart the setup from the beginning.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
