XP shut down on boot

I have a clients computer here that fried the motherboard on replacing the motherboard and the case/power supply, formatting the harddrive and attempting to install win xp, the system would shutdown during install “to protect the system. The new motherboard is a ASUS P3CD dual processor. After going through this several times and trying to remove all unnecessary boards it made no difference. I finally put the harddrive on my computer, formatted and loaded xp with no problem, took the harddrive and put it in his system and it shutdown the same way. Any suggestions????
