XP terminal server connection

I currently have a user that connects to the network from home via VPN, then remote controls to his computer using the XP terminal services feature. He has a scheduled task that runs and prints a report from an access database every night from his work PC. Everytime though he “remote controls” to his work PC from home, it opens multiple (about 48 to be exact) access sessions. Has anyone seen this or know of a fix for it?
