“You are now sharing your desktop”

I was viewing a MS webcast and this bright green box appeared
behind my open windows. When I moved windows to view the
green box all I saw of it was: “You are now sharing your desktop”!

All I could think to do was shut off my AirPort immediately. What’s
up with this “green box” announcing that I was now sharing my
desktop?
