Configuring a Dual Desktop Display in Windows Vista

For the average user, connecting a dual desktop configuration took several steps and could be rather confusing. Windows Vista makes it easier to configure a dual desktop display through what they now call the Window Mobility Center. It is like shopping at WalMart; it has a little bit of everything you need in one place. You can configure the following from the Mobility Center:

  • Volume
  • Battery Status
  • Display
  • Synchronization
  • Presentation

Now that we are in the Windows Mobility Center, click Connect Display and Windows Vista will begin detecting your dual desktop configuration. Once the detection is completed, you are presented with the New Display Detected wizard. You can choose to extend your desktop to the left or right or mirror it depending on your needs. It truly is that simple.
