A First Look at the Acer Aspire One netbook

except now when i go to the shutdown menu the stanby icon is greyed out. I have rearched extensivly on t'internet and despite retting up the policies in the registry to be the same as an HP mini I still can't seem to unlock standy. This means if I run on Battery ( which isn't as good as advertised) if I put it down it never switches off! Any help would be apprciated

When I first bought it, there was a little slip as an addendum to the main handbook suggesting that the battery should be fully charged, then allowed to run down completely 3 times to maximise battery life. I did this and got increasing battery life each time, finishing at around 3 hours.

This lasted for a couple of months. Then I didn't use it at all for about a month and when I went back to it, the battery was dead and wouldn't charge. Took it to the service people who said they needed to flush the BIOS. Whatever they did, it worked, but I've not had much more than 2 hours ever since.

I'm an accountant, not a techie, and hope someone else understands your last paragraph and will reply!

Hi I only manage to get 1.5 hours out of a 3 cell battery what set up are you using?

Also i can't get standy or hibernate to enable no tabs in the power management option is this a limitaiton of the processor?
