ATI Mobility Radeon Chip

Interesting to note is the ATI Mobility Radeon Chip, seen here with yellow thermo insulating foam.Heat generation was a major issue with many of the G3 iBook models, as the graphics chips were attached to the motherboards using a ball grid array technique. The chips would become so hot the actual solder joints could separate.
