Most of them slams too. Talking about quality etc. I am an MCSE and use Mac's at home and for network administration. They cost a little more and if that is your be all end all great.

Any Mac user knows that you are repeating things that you heard or read a long time ago. When you say they get fewer viruses, and malware for example the Mac users know they have never had any malware or viruses despite visiting dodgy web sites and with no antivirus installed. They do not even sell antivirus any more. I had the last version of McAfee for Macs and when I read the documentation it said that it was to protect windows users from viruses that may have been forwarded to you.



The thing I cannot live without is a computer that works exactly the same every day. With windows machines I am constantly fiddling with something all of the time that worked yesterday.

I like windows. If all computers worked like a MAC we would all be unemployed.

The whole PC vs. Mac debate is IMHO just like the debate of automobile makers.

The Ford vs. Chevy or BMW vs. Mercedes is best for reason X, Y and Z. Really, in computers, automobiles and almost every other product made, there are advantages and disadvantages to each.

I personally started out many years ago earning a living selling, using and supporting Windows PCs and Servers. I still use XP in a VM on my Mac Pro. I use what I need to get the job done. I had to use XP in my laser business because the vendor only supplied the print driver (as of now) for Windows.

I have spent literally countless hours supporting Windows environments over the years. Today I use a Mac as my main system. I use both because in my circumstance it works best for me.

Others, however, may find that they are better suited with Windows, Linux, UNIX, OS/2 or an abacus.

I suggest using what works for you and leaving all the X is better than Y FUD out of the discussion. You likely will not convince anyone unless they try other options with an open mind anyway no matter what the OS or machine.

I have had HP machines for years, and what you describe does not sound like HP at all. Lately I had two machines that I had to send back to HP, the first one got knocked over and the digitizer would only show the pointer in the upper right part of the screen, shipped, repaired, and returned within a week. The other machine stopped booting and was shipped, repaired and returned within 3 days. They even repaired the second one for free and was out of warranty for over a year. HP equipment has typically lasted for quite a long period of time. Their customer service was excellent. I would take HP equipment over the over price poorly designed Apple junk every day. As a matter of fact, HP designs lately make Apple junk look stupid.
