Self-contained power supply

Unlike Microsoft's Xbox 360, the entire power supply unit is contained within the PlayStation 3's case. The Xbox 360 uses a configuration similar to many laptop power adapters, which keeps the capacitors and other large components outside the Xbox 360's case.
