Monday, May 28, 2012, is Memorial Day in the United States. A day we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us.
While the Memorial Day holiday in the United States is often celebrated as the first day of summer, its real purpose is to remind of us of the men and women who have sacrificed their lives in military service. To that end, we have erected many monuments to their memory, several of which I have collected in this photo gallery of desktop wallpaper.
