The first step is to have a virtual storage product configured with a LUN ready to go via iSCSI. Once that is ready, the ESXi host can be configured to add storage. This image shows an ESXi host only with local storage, designated as "datastore1."

Configure shared storage for ESX is not clear on article
Allocated volume and etc.
Then add VM host(s) on SAN to see if SAN can see it.
Only after this done, return to VM host and add preconfigred SAN volumes
Rerun and allocate space and etc.
