Microsoft Asia Pacific redesigned its Singapore office space and removed cubicles, private offices, and desktop phones. Employees now use a mixture of non-partitioned desks and a café-like arrangement of tables and chairs and meeting rooms and smaller rooms when more privacy is needed. The open concept office design is thought to promote greater productivity and collaboration, reduce the office space required, and attract and retain employees from all generations.

Read my post in TechRepublic's Asian Technology blog to learn more about the office revamp, and about how Microsoft Asia Pacific is helping employees transition to the new concept.
