Zune White

I got a Zune for my nephew for Christmas.
Then, I found out I could only get tunes
from their market place. Was not happy with
that.
Well, since you can have two Zunes attached
to one account, I purchased a Zune for myself.
So, at least two of us can have music for one
monthly price.
For my nephew, this is a good deal because
kids/teens seem to want new music all the
time. For me, I am sticking mostly to the
70's music.
I never had any problems with the software
loading or using it. But, I do have a new
computer and I also loaded the software on my old computer without any issues either.

I purchased a Zune through homedepot.com(which I'll never do again) as a Christmas present for my wife. It sat under the Christmas tree for a few weeks until Christmas. A few days after Christmas I decided to connect it to my computer a give it a whirl. First of all the software would not load and I got an error message that halted me from going any further. I tried loading it manually form the disk with no luck. I called the Zune tech line and with a huge language barrier between me and somebody who was clearly from outside of the United States, he told me that I needed to upgrade me Media Center 2002 to Media Center 2005(roll up 2). After downloading roll up 2 I made an attempt to load it, which seemed to work until I verified it in my system enviroment tab. Media Center 2002 was still there, what happened to 2005(roll up 2) that appeared to load onto my system. After the re-boot I noticed everything was running slow and unresponsive with many tasks. After performing many clean up tasks and restore points I decided to reload the operating system. Afterwards I tried the Zune one last time with no success. I then tried returning it the homedepot.com and they would not take it back since it was after thirty days(even though it sat under the Christmas tree for weeks) and now I'm stuck with a Zune that is unusable. Why didn't I buy an ipod instead and most of all why did I make the purchased through homedepot.com. DON'T BUY ZUNE OR ANYTHING THROUGH HOMEDPOT.COM THE SERVICE AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT FROM BOTH IS EXTREMELY HORRIBLE!!! I'd rather throw my money out in the street and watch it blow away.

The zune and zune player application recognizes your apple audio conversions (AAC) files that you have ripped from your cds. This saves a lot of conversion time to mp3 and loss of quality during that process.

However, the zune cannont recognize your protected (purchased) apple music files. There are programs out there that scrub off the protection on the music files so that they are available to rip. Another resort is to burn your protected apple files to a music dvd and then import as mp3 or aac, your choice.

Up until zune's release day, i have been looking forward to using my iTunes library with an iPod video. Now that i have seen and experienced the zune, i have hapily swtiched from apple to microsoft, and i will remain there until apple otherwise convinses me.

The zune is better than the ipod for several reasons; FM tuner, wireless sharing of music, bigger screen, price, and more.

The zune may not be an imidiant threat to apple's ipod, but with future models of the zune, the music mp3 player iPod domination may be no more.
