Here are three of Dell’s new Dimension desktops, geared toward home and small-business customers. On the left is the E520, which has Intel Pentium D and Core 2 Duo processor options and starts at $719. At center is the E521, priced at $329 and equipped with an AMD Athlon 64 or Athlon 64 X2 processor. On the right is the slimmer C521, which starts at $359 and also has AMD processor options.
\r\nThe Dimension E521 and C521 are Dell’s first consumer machines to come with processors from Advanced Micro Devices. All three desktops were introduced Tuesday at Dell Technology Day in New York.
The XPS 210, starting at $1,190, is Dell’s easy-on-the-eyes new compact desktop, which the company is marketing to digital media enthusiasts with an affinity for the compact. The tower is only one-foot-tall and can be placed upright or horizontally. Packed inside can be either an Intel Pentium D or Core Duo processor. Options for adding a TV tuner are available as well.
Introduced at Dell Technology Day on Tuesday, the XPS 210 is part of Dell’s initiative toward more streamlined industrial design to address consumer trends.
