    The Segway i2 Personal Transport is geared toward commuting and running errands in an urban envronment. Both the i2 and x2 models have a new technology called LeanSteer which allows the driver to turn left or right by just leaning in that direction. The i2 will cost $4,995.

  • A special version of the i2 for police is being used at BWI airport.

  • The x2 Personal Transport is Segway’s version of a dirt bike. The top speed of both the i2 and x2 is about 12.5 miles per hour. Batteries will last for about 12 miles. The x2 will retail for about $5,495.

  • The x2 is designed to ride over nature trails, hills and beaches.

  • The wireless InfoKey is a remote control unit that monitors data such as battery level, speed and distance. It also includes a security alarm that goes off when someone other than the owner steps on the vehicle.
