The Windows 7 UI will be the HP Slate's biggest weakness

I decided to have a look around for it elswhere, no big deal, just another tablet.

If the OP does his homework, it will show there have been several tablets out for some time now that accept 'nix flavours.

Oh well, pretty pitctures, beats reading three pages of marketing slop.

I could have modified a file allowing upgrade of an earlier version like RC1 but the way it rebooted at 40 to 45 minutes or so after advertising 2 hours made backing up my data impossible within Windows. Since I already had the Ubuntu cd in and booted to do my backup I decided to just go ahead and install Ubunto again on the laptop. Besides, the install was much faster and everything just worked without having to track down all the drivers from gateway again etc.
I liked the Win 7 I will admit but I will also admit I prefer the Ubuntu overall. Win 7 was fast but not close to the speed of the Ubuntu and it didn't cost me $400 for the ultimate version. It does everything I need and more and alos allows me to flash xbox 360 nands and other chips without rebooting to linux or XP since I am already in Linux and lflash works best.
I could have probably found a hacked pirated version free but I do now believe in piracy and why spend $400 to do what Ubuntu does for free and faster.
I gave Win 7 a shot and like I said it is the best thing MS has released in a long time. I actually enjoyed it and can actually recommend it to people unlike my Vista experiences. I hope MS keeps up the improvements in the future and believe most people would love it on this tablet/slate. I sure do not feel it is a bad point in the slate as the author does.
