2D’s repair

I have a 2D’s that my brother took apart but broke the analog thumb stick, and it was only $15 on Amazon to fix, and I got that repaired, but now the battery must have failed or something because the 2D’s won’t turn on. I’m not sure whether i should let it die and trash it or try and repair it.
