My dad just gave me some Logitech Z640 5.1 speakers (cheers dad :P) and my computer has an onboard sound device. Its an Asus P4P800 Delux mobo with soundmax 5.1 sound device.
I have always noticed that on 5.1 sound cards there are more audio jacks on the back for 5.1 setup, but my motherboard manual says that if i want 5.1, i cant use my line-in and microphone jacks, because there are none of the extra jacks.
So, i plugged in the front speakers (green) cable to line-out, center/subwoofer (red) cable to my mic port and the back speakers (black) cable to my line-in port. I went through and tried configuring my speakers with my soundmax software, but i can not get the back speakers to work.
I can live without a microphone and line-in port, but im not going to use them all if i cant get all of the speakers working. Will someone please help me to get the rear speakers working?
p.s high points for this one cause I couldn’t figure it out myself so it counts as difficult for me
