Access 97 – Multiple users opening same

I have Office97 installed on my NW5 network and allow multiple users to use Access (within the number of licenses we have). The databases are also on the netwark in a shared folder. The Access documentation says that multilple users can work on the same database at the same time but that is not the case in my install. I have checked all the obvious things, security rights, non-exclusive open, etc. The Databse Jet engine gives me an error if the 2nd person tries to open the database sometingto the effect of “Database already in use by another session”. Is this a result of running Access from the network and not from the local machines? Anyone have any ideas?
