Access ’97 warning

I have created a Database in Access ’97. It seems as though people whom are using Windows 2000 are getting and error when certain queries are trying to run. “The microsoft jet engine cannot open the file [path to my DB]. Its already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view this data.” Im not sure why this error is occurring, i was wondering if anyone has seen this before and may know how to fix it. Thanks in advance.
