I had redirected a user’s “My Documents” folder to “\\CFIDC1\Private\ruth\My Documents” and set the folder for offline use. CFIDC1 (which was the only domain controller) crashed and is no more and her computer is now part of a new domain. The icon appears in the system tray that says that her files are offline and I can view the list of files by going to “\\CFIDC1\Private\ruth\My Documents” (even though CFIDC1 doesn’t exist), but I can’t open them or copy them. I get the following message:
—————————-
Error Copying File or Folder

The offline filew cache is stored in “c:\winnt\csc” but they are stored in some sort of binary form and not in any readable format.
I can also use the “View Files” button in the offline files window to view all the icons for the files, but I can’t open them that way either–same message as above.
Unfortunately these files were not included as part of the backup of CFIDC1, so this is my last hope to get them back.
