admin can’t see hidden files

I have a w2k domain running in mixed mode. 2 w2k DC and 3 NT servers. NT servers are still acting as backup DC. Home folders is on a NT server. One of my domain admin John cannot see user’s hidden files. But if I logon as Admin or myself, I can see the hidden files. We all belong to the Administrator group, enterprise admin and domain admin group. Why can’t he see the hidden files ? where should we be looking at ? Thanks for the help.
