What is the best AND/OR easiest-to-convert-to/learn development environment to take old Dbase programs, forms and databases into the visual age.
I have done a little VB / VBA and certainly no data access with it. I have toyed with the idea of MySQL and HTML/Web front-ends but I need to do conditional data validation as well.
The database would be single user but needs the ability to be exported and merged with an identical one on another machine.
The resulting application would ideally fit onto a floppy disk as the data volumes are not high. Maybe 100 records max.
The critical thing is the data validation based on a three fields hierarchy. More details could be supplied offline…..
Someone may say why not use something like Excel to do the input but it comes down to the specifics of the data validation based on a separate data table.
