Optimizing WordPress widgets and DOM size

I’ve been optimizing a few content-heavy WordPress and multi-page layout sites lately, and I wanted to open a discussion around page performance and DOM element bloat.

Often, when adding multiple sidebar widgets, dynamic layout blocks, and asset scripts, the DOM tree grows quite large, which directly impacts First Contentful Paint (FCP) and mobile loading speeds.

What are your go-to strategies or lightweight plugins for keeping widget-heavy WordPress setups fast and efficient? Are you noticing any specific layout structures working better for performance?
