AGP video

I have a M/B with a max 133 mhz (2x) AGP slot.
Will a 4x video card (Geforce type) be compatible with the 2x slot and is it worth making the change, considering the difference in 2x vs 4x?
I now have a Creative Savage4 with 32mb RAM now.
