Apple Printers

We have an all mac network with 5 network printers. A few are LaserWriter12/640. I have constannt difficulty with those printers. The out of paper light comes on at least once a day when the printer is full. sometimes this can be solved by adjusting the slider thing but thats not usually the case. The only solution now is to unplug it and start it up again. Help.
