“Associations” not working

Hi.

PCs are my thing not Macs so hopefully someone can help me. We have recently run into a problem on a PowerMac G4 running MacOs 9 where we can no longer open files that are downloaded from the internet. If this were a PC I would guess that thefiles were not being associated with a program to run them. This has mainly been binhex files, but I have also seen the problem with others. Any ideas? If you need more information, let me know and I will post it.
