Audio Card drivers

Hello,

Dell Precision 340, XP pro sp2. Creative labs SB Audigy2 card.

1. Is it necessary to have the onbaord analog audio drivers installed in order for the pci drivers to work?

2. If this card originally came from another newer machine, will it not work with this 340 for some reason?

I inserted the driver CD for both the newer one and the 340 but it didn’t recognize the sound card. However, DeviceMngmt recognizes it as a multimedia device, however it remains uninstalled.
