Black/Dim screen in Win/Mac Bootcamp

I had my Windows XP running in MAC OS10.5 Bootcamp go black all of a sudden. On reboot Mac OS worked fine. Windows part. was extremely dark but an extremely dim image was visible. An external monitor was likewise dim/black.

I found that this problem started when I hit a combination of F1-F12 keys.

To fix this problem I was able to use the dim image on screen to go to the Bootcamp utility in the systray in Windows and enter ‘Control Panel’ then go to the brightness tab and you’ll find that it has been set to ‘DIM’. Just reset the brightness and you’ll be good to go.
