Let me state the pre-existing conditions: The server is an all SCSI IBM PC 325 with two 8.5G HDs running MS Server 2000.
I wanted to install a larger HD. The steps that I took were: 1)Backed up drive 0, and created an Emergency Repair Disk (ERD). 2)Disconnected the old drive 0, Installed the new drive as drive 0, with two partitions: C: (300 MB) and D: (17 GB). I then did a restore including the state. 3)After the restore the desktop was different (some Icons were missing), and other things were missing. Re-installed the old drive and when booting it started setup. Now the drive designations are changed. I still have the backup that I originally did, and I believe that if I can force the drive letters back to the original designations and restore, that all might be as it was.
The drive 0 was partitioned as follows: partition 1 (C:), 300MB, partition 2 (D:), 1.95GB, partition 3 (J:) 5.95GB, and the remainder not formatted (about 680 MB). The second drive, drive 1, was one partition (F:).
Now drive 0 is C:, F:, J:, and drive 1 is D:.
When I try to call up MS Access, I get an error that says that it can’t find the program, even though I can browse and find it, give the new location and it still does not work.
