Broken Mirror with Win98se

I had a working system with to 40 Gigabyte Maxtor Hard Drives (Identical Models), mirrored on an Abit motherboard with Raid Controllers. Each was a master. The 1st was on the Raid Primary, and the other on the Raid Secondary. For some reason, no warning I noticed the Raid Bios reported at boot up that the Mirror was broken. I would like to get the Mirror back. I tried in the bios to use the Duplicate to get it going. It still gives me a broken mirror message. Can anyone help? PS I don’t want toloose my data.
