Browser (Server) problem

by rabbit_runner . Updated 20 years, 9 months ago

Environment
-Huge network witn multiple subnets
-Windows 2003 Domain (10 DCs) I do not have access to the DCs (they are maintained by another group of IT techs)
-Network Servers are a mix of 2000 / 2003 / UNIX

Problem Server
-Window 2003 server (recently reloaded to upgrade)
-It is in production and cannot be reloaded again
-IP Static
-DNS (both AD and UNIX) Have checked and the DNS entries are correct and match.
-WINS enabled – entries are correct (I checked)
-This server is identical in hardware and software to four other servers.

Problem:
-We cannot browse to this server.
-URL will reach any share on the server
-It is not viewable in a browsing environment.
-We can logon using RDP by the server name and by the server IP.

Master browser settings are correct (have been searching KB).

I had a similar problem three years ago and the solution was a setting in the registry. I THINK the problem is the same thing, but for the life of me, I cannot find the same article which gave the answer.

Does anyone have an idea?
