Calling IMGSCAN.OCX in HTML/ASP pages

by spatelone . Updated 21 years, 3 months ago

I am fairly new to HTML/ASP programming. My experience has been hobby programming and try out things not commonly done in everyday basis.

Couple of years back I had written app in Borland C++ Builder Standard edition. This app imported Kodak Imaging Scan Control (IMGSCAN.OCX) ActiveX.

Within this app I allowed user to control scanner and allowed scanning of files and picttures.

Now I like to write same project, but would like to have Web Browser,i.e.(Internet Explorer or FireFox) as front end User Interface and prefer to use .Net / VB in backend.

What I cannot figure out is how I can introduce IMGSCAN.OCX in my web page and how can I call it’s methods and update it’s properties. I am looking for an example.

Also, Microsoft stopped distributing IMGSCAN.OCX with it’s Windows XP. So, I am also looking for similar ActiveX that is free of charge and/or ideas of how to utilize WIA, Windows Image Acquisition?

You may send me direct e-mail to spatelone@yahoo.com

Thank you for your help.
