Summary of PC: Win98 (first edition) with 64megs of ram, 1.5Gig harddrive. The MB is a Tyan S1470.
I’m having major trouble with installing a USB adapter. The PC at first would not recognize the adapter, with a little reading on Tyans website itseemed that the BIOS needed to be updated to a newer version to recognize USB. So, I flashed the BIOS – this worked fine, no problems. Along with this, I also Flashed the CMOS – followed the directions from Tyan to a “T”. Now I have 2 problems 1.)the computer sees the USB adapter and loads it in device manager but when using a USB device (i.e. HP Scanner) it does not see or recognize it. 2.) in device manager the network card (i.e. netgear F310) is installed but has a “!” and in properties its not being assigned a IRQ…any ideas?
