I’ll try to sum it up quick> Have a Gateway M280E notebook, had to completely replace the hard drive. this drive was wiped and completely blank. Normally i would have had to use an usb external floppy and fdisk the drive. this is my situation and i need to know if it is possible… i have a tower, by unplugging my cd/dvd drive i can hook up my laptops sata, i have performed a quick format on it but that is as far as i can go> is there a way to format it so that it has the sata drivers and is prepared to receive an linux based os, remove it and put back in laptop and install the op sys? i don’t have an external floppy> i can only run 2 sata devices on my tower at a time> is this possible or am i wasting my time? i know my notebook is old but love it and want to get going again. if someone can help i sure welcome it!!!!! thank you for your time>
