Cannot logon after Windows updates

I just installed 59 or so updates on XP Pro and now cannot login to the PC.
If I try to login to the domain using the domain account, I get a message indicating that the NETLOGON service is not running.
If I try to login to the local machine using either the Administrator account or the domain user login, I get an error message indicating that the domain (local machine name) is not available.
