canon pixma2522 isn’t recognized

I recently got a Canon Pixma MG2522 which worked perfectly when I first got it. But the last time I tried to use it, my laptop said the USB device was not recognized. I downloaded the latest drivers from the Canon support center but they will not install correctly because my device can’t be recognized. My laptop is up to date, as far as I l know. I have tried changing cords and connecting it to different USB ports but it is not working. PLEASE HELP. I NEED THIS PRINTER FOR MY SCHOOL WORK. I have windows 10 Version 1709 OS Build 16299.431
