Internet Security: PC-cillin Internet Security 2006 — uninstalled
Set up this computer with wireless access a week ago. All was working great.
Customer used it for a few days with no problems then one morning was unable to access the internet….. after installing PC-cillin
Wireless connects to network — good signal
Am able to release and renew IP.
Can successfully Ping gateway and sites on internet but when try to access with IE or Firefox……. Website found. Waiting for reply………
The page could not be displayed.
Unable to access email.
The Hosts file has only the localhost 127.0.0.1
Have run winsockxpfix_1
Have reset TCP/IP using netsh
Have cleaned out temp files & cookies
Have cleaned registry…..
Have also made attempts with wired connection — no different…..
NO Firewalls.
Have also discovered that Regedit is missing. Anyone know how to reinstall? or is it possible to copy from another computer???
Anyone else got any ideas short of reloading….????
Further quirk… CD drive is broken and customer chose to replace with external, making reload of XP difficult/impossible….
