Can’t read external HD

I have a Western Digital internal h/d I’m using externally with a sata/ide usb connector on a XP pc. When I go to Computer Management only my C drive is listed, When I go to Device Manager – Disk Drives, it identifies a USB Device. under Properties: Type = Disk Drives; Mgf = Standard disk drive; Location = Location 0; on the Volumes tab – everything is a – (blank); under the Details pull down, it lists a lot of info on most of the items selected.

Any recommendation to be able to have a drive letter appear?
