Can’t remove desktop icons

I have several desktop icon shortcuts to online poker etc. that I can’t delete. These do not show up in startup programs, taskbar or anywhere else. They also can’t be dragged and dropped to the recycle bin. How do I get rid of these. I have run spybot norton cleansweep and a few other programs.
