can?t start windows firewall

This pertains to an earlier post. Like a moron, I deleted norton 360 that came with my computer because i was tired of the antivirus popup messages that told me to renew my subscription to norton.

apparently when i did this, it disabled my windows firewall. I did a system restore and got the files back, but i can?t turn on firewall anymore. I try to start windows firewall, i try to start norton, but all i get is a message saying it cannot be started.

is there a way to fix this? thanks
