Capitalization of Last Name

Why are information systems getting too lazy to properly handle Iris and Scotish name. Most will spell McDonald as Mcdonald, O’Tool as Otool, McVie as Mcvie. Some will handle it right if entered as Mc Donald, but then you get referred to as Mr Donald, O Tool as Mr Tool, etc.
