Capturing XML file from VB Application

Can i capture a XML file from my VB application?My requirement is
1)To receive the XML file using Internet Control provided in Visual Basic
2)Then parsing the XML file ad writing into database all the relevant records?

Any reference,live code or example for both of the above requirement will be a great help.
