Cartridge comparision between Deskjet, Inkjet and Laserjet

Hello,

I was wondering if somebody can give me some tips on the cartridge consumption speed between deskjet, inkjet and laserjet. Basically i want to know that in a loger run will a basic model of laserjet will prove cost effective than a deskjet or inkjet. Please give me information on this.
